Elandor-Loveless Mind

Artist:
Elandor
Release:
Loveless Mind
Label:
ECHOZONE

Elandor released their fourth album "Loveless Mind" by the end of 2015. If you are hearing about them for the first time, they produce music that can be classified as dark-rock, industrial metal, or gothic rock. In Germany, Elandor was found in 2008 as a one man project by Markus Kühnel, it has now grown into a full-fledged group with four album releases. The band members are: Markus Kühnel (Vocals, Lyrics and Lead), Daniel Hawranke (Guitar), Jan Ulzhöfer (Drums and Synth) Steffen Wust (Bass) and Indra Süss (Violin).

Born for Bliss-Falling Back To Never

Born for Bliss

Falling Back To Never

ECHOZONE

Born for Bliss is an emotionally passionate band which thrives to deliver a wave of psychedelic music with a nostalgic dark alternative rock vibe. This band has quite the history on how it was formed, long story short, this band was formed in 1994 and they released their first album in 1997.

Voodoma-Secret Circle

Artist:
Voodoma
Release:
Secret Circle
Label:
Echozone

For those of you that do not know:Voodoma is a german band, delivering a gothic/metal hybrid.Of course these details do not tell that much-yet they are surely serving as an initial introduction to this group's work. The synthesis between gothic and metal was very popular back in the 90's-as many of you propably remember..

Red Sun Revival-Embers

Artist:
Red Sun Revival
Release:
Embers
Label:
Echozone

Now,what do we have here?Red Sun Revival is an english quartet(including one greek,in their ranks!).Having released their debut in 2012,the band is in the process of releasing their sophomore full length effort."Embers" is a 4-track ep,that obviously serves as a teaser for their forthcoming album.Their music could be loosely described as dark wave.To use a different characterisation,I'd say that they somehow bridge the gap between gothic rock and indie rock.

Gates Of Dawn-Sepia

Artist:
Gates Of Dawn
Release:
Sepia
Label:
Echozone

To begin with,"Sepia"is an absolutely succesful choice for the title of this album,as it precisely portrays the chromatic sequence that is dominant into this band's music. But also because it clearly describes their sound activity very accurately, albeit chromatically,as mentioned right before.Gates of Dawn are a septet coming from Germany.I need to confess that upon reading the press statement accompanying this disc,I felt a little worried, especially when I read that this band specialises in a form of gothic metal.Mind you,I certainly loved(or maybe, adored perhaps?)some of this

Moonrise-Ten Flowers For The Shade

Artist:
Moonrise
Release:
Ten Flowers For The Shade
Label:
Echozone

Moonrise is certainly not a new band, since their career has lasted for 15 years,up to date.Following the previous remark someone could easily regard them as veterans,a fact not far from thruth,perhaps.."Ten Flowers for the Shade"was originally released as a download-only album.Echozone here presents its release in the cd format.

FX3-Spacemusic

Artist:
FX3
Release:
Spacemusic
Label:
Echozone

"Spacemusic" launches off with an astral suite/prologue,totally reminiscent of past kraut rock artists.Guessing by their members' names, this is propably a german band-something that explains the similarities to the kraut sound machine, perhaps? This band claims that none of the sounds assembled herein was conceived or created by synthesizers.A band of purists that is!But that is certainly not a bad thing-on the contary,to be exact!

Lost In Desire-Reborn From The Ashes

Artist:
Lost In Desire
Release:
Reborn From The Ashes
Label:
Echozone

Lost In Desire is the solo project of Stephan S.Another valuable detail regarding this release,is that what we get here is an album full of remixes.I do not usually enjoy remix albums-yet,there are exceptions to this canon.A variety of artists participate herein-most notable of whom should be Apoptygma Berserk and Assemblage 23.I should also mention that one of the remixes was handled by Born For Bliss(a band I had the pleasure to review,in the past).

Me.Man.Machine-Reviver

Artist:
Me.Man.Machine
Release:
Reviver
Label:
Echozone

This is a band coming from Switzerland-unfortunately I did not have the pleasure of hearing any of their material, until now that is."Reviver" seems to be a trully ambitious effort-something clearly evident by the very well presented artwork accompanying this release. And also by the fact that this album was mixed in London,by Gareth Jones(Depeche Mode,Can and Nick Cave are some of the artsits who have worked with him, previously).

Gedankenrasen-Innere Apokalypse

Artist:
Gedankenrasen
Release:
Innere Apokalypse
Label:
Echozone / Körperschall Records

This project shows its intentions right from start:synth lines and fast beats dominate the scenery, here.Electro is the name of the game, obviously.Strangely so,vocals are not delivered in a brutal, howling manor-opting instead for a type of clean, mechanical vocal performance.Something that fits the music quite well,in my opinion.
