Giorgos Tsopanos-Strioionla

Artist:
Giorgos Tsopanos
Release:
Strioionla
Label:
Self-released

This is a very awkward, but at the same time, important release.Beautiful aesthetically, this 3" disc immediately caught my attention.A ,lovely sketch, showcasing Yukio Mishima's head is featured as the cover art, here.Apart from this, delightful artwork,a crucial detail is the fact that all sounds contained within this disc, are generated through a handmade organ, created by Giorgos Tsopanos himself. Now,if someone had to to conceal these sounds in a specific genre, the obvious choice would be noise.

Dynamic Syndicate-Noises

Dynamic Syndicate

Noises
Label:
Echozone

Dynamic Syndicate are a rather new project, having been formed in Cologne,Germany, back in 2009."Noises" is their debut album, released by Echozone. They tend to categorise their sound as a crossover between electro punk and industrial rock.Their description seems pretty accurate, referencing bands such as The Prodigy, for example. On my behalf,I had no idea on what to expect, yet this band managed to grasp my attention, completely. In a good sense, that is.It is my belief, that it is relatively easy to fail, when trying to combine elements from different genres, altogether.Yet,that is certainl

Some of you might remember, that in the not so distant past,I had reviewed an album,by Andreas Gross."Autumn Inventors"was a poetic, gentle, deeply astonishing work. Thus,I was very eager to hear Mr Gross' new sonic adventures. And,once more,I was captivated by the ellegance of this artist's audio explorations."Grounds Of Ashes" is this project's 8th album,so far.

Tiny Boys-Tiny Boys

Release:
Tiny Boys
Label:
af-music

Well,Tiny Boys...There must be something nice going on in Sweden, really, musically speaking,at least! The reason for making this statement is that I've listened to a lot of swedish bands lately, who have literally exceeded my expectations. And believe me,by that I do not mean the famous ones...To our topic then:this band's music could be categorised as an eclectic blend of energetic indie/post punk rhythms, full of melody, along with Camilla Karisson's gorgeous voice.

Dark Plain-Breathe

Breathe
Label:
self released

In the end, music can be simple, yet when it comes straight from the heart,it can reach certain levels of beauty. There is certainly no place for anxiety,or hysteria. You just have to feel and,at the same time, possess the ability to transcend this feeling in a simple, vital way,in order to touch the listener's emotions. And that is the result of the listening session of Dark Plain's debut, simply called,"Breathe".

Seduce the Heaven – Field of Dreams

Artist:
Seduce the Heaven
Release:
Field of Dreams
Label:
FYB Records

What could be the result of an undetermined blend of six of Greece’s most skilled and qualified musicians when they are put together in a band? Well, that can be easily summed up in three simple words and these are SEDUCE THE HEAVEN. This fairly new progressive metal band, has managed to built gradually a worthy reputation under its name by taking small but clever steps in order to establish their name in the (local) scene.

Sabbath Assembly-Ye Are Gods

Artist:
Sabbath Assembly
Release:
Ye Are Gods
Label:
Ajna Offensive/Svart Records

The Work presented here is the second opus of Sabbath Assembly.Since this is definitely conceptually driven music, some words on my behalf would be needed,in order to shed some light to this band's spiritual background. To cut a long story short, this ensemble was created on an impulse to perform hymns, that were originally conducted by the Process Church of the Final Judgement. This institution(or cult,if you may)had its heyday back in the 60's,at a time when lots of individuals were experimenting with "bizarre" religious ideas. The main characteristic of the former organizatio

Morlocks-The Outlaw Of Fives

Artist:
Morlocks
Release:
The Outlaw Of Fives
Label:
Echozone

Morlocks are a trio, hailing from Sweden, having been active for quite some time, since they were originally formed back in the early 90's.Their sound is described by themselves,as "proggressive industrial",a blend that consists of metal, symphonic passages and electronic elements, entwined.this album could be easily seen as a comeback for the band, who had been on hiatus, since their last release, back in 2002.

Yet another review on a band whose existence I completely ignored,up to now, that is!This Teutonic duo choose to describe their sounds by using a label such as "Future New Wave".Strangely so,their description happens to be pretty accurate,as I was soon to discover!Truth is that judging by the artwork presentation,I figured that this was yet another typical german electro band.
