Polish musical scene has been an extreme nest for almost two decades now. Be it innovative or not, be it underground or quite the main stream’s followers, bands have flourished on the fertile Polish grounds that are, nonetheless, aggressive.

My first notice concerning this disc was:yet another Echozone release for me to review!And a very good one,I might add..My second notice about it was how wonderfully titled this album is!I could say that"Autumn Inventors"almost sounds poetic to my ears.And what's more it perfectly fits as a description to the majority of the sounds exemplified within this cd.

This is the third album from Italian band Ecnephias and it is under the microscope of subexistance. We took an in-depth look.

Ecnephias are self-proclaimed "representatives of the occult metal scene with mediterrenean elements". This is not far from the truth. Their music can best be described as gothic metal european-style, structurally similar to Paradise Lost, but with a distinct sound and approach reminiscent of Moonspell's and Rotting Christ's darker and melody-driven records.

First thing that struck my mind by the time I saw the album with the characteristic Japanese style, was how bored I was to review this, as I expected something extremely dull, to be honest. In this, there so many different musical styles that I ‘m completely lost! What can one first mention?! Metal/ punk/ gothic/ industrial/ glam/ alternative/ etc, anything one may seek should be here!

“The New Melancholy” is the Austrian based brothers’, Marcus and Christian  Keimel, first discographic attempt. A musical alloy based on many and different from one another musical genres of the goth and metal scene.
