Armageddon
ARMAGEDDON is a new promising band from Larissa Greece. Here is an interview with the band to subexistance.
You are a very new band. What was the motive to create Armageddon.
Doing what you feel, not only related to the creation of music but general in life, is what counts the most. Armageddon is the result of our hunger to create something different; we hope to manage to give something to the world. Something that we will be proud of after several years.
Which are the band members and how each one of you take part in the music composition ,lyrics etc...
There is Teo on guitar and vocals, Vaggelis is the other guitarist, Dimitris is the band’s bassist, Kostas on drums and Thanos on keyboards. As regards the songs’ composition, the two guitarists have the first word, at least so far. All the band’s members participate in the completion of the songs. For the moment, Dimitris and Thanos had no participation in writing the lyrics of the songs. This doesn’t mean that they had no interest in lyrics or that, this will go on forever.
In your opinion what is the philosophy of Black Metal?
As we all know, Black Metal is a very special kind of music, both for musicians and listeners. The feelings that are expressed through Black Metal are anger, wrath, despair, hatred, oblivion, uncertainty for the future, pessimism, etc.. Black metal is the soundtrack of our dark and macabre self.
Give me more details about your PROMO-CD, "THE PERSECUTION FROM HEAVEN"
The creation of our demo-cd “The Persecution from Heaven” had as a goal to present to the people a sample, an early form of our music. It contains two songs, Xaros and The Mothman, which basically have as a main subject, mythology and local legends of several cultures and ages.
What are the comments from people when they listen your music?
Most of the people that either have attended some of our concerts either have bought our demo, are doing some positive comments about our music as well about our stage performance. When we did our first gig, we only counted two months of existence a month later came the second gig. I remember that some of the people that had attended our gigs, said that we made a progress comparing to the previous gigs. Similar situations happen in almost every gig and that makes us really happy and gives us strength to carry on.
We have great bands in Greece in B.M.scene.Which band is closer to your sound?
We don’t like to put labels on the bands judging their work and naming them “big bands” or “small bands”. There are lots of black metal bands in Greece. Some of them made an international career, others keep trying to book a Label and some others – unfortunately- dissolved before they manage to give to people what they originally planned. Listening to one particular band called Jackal’s Truth, which was a local black metal band of the ‘90s, made us take things more seriously and start rehearsing. We don’t believe that our sound, is alike to any other band. The best one to judge that, is our public.
You have done some live shows. What is the feeling on the stage?
The feelings that we share when we’re upon the stage is the need to play our songs as well as we can. The thing that we love is to see our fans go crazy with our music and have “fun”. That’s the best reword to us and the best answer to the anxiety that we possibly have on our first minutes on stage.
How difficult is to find a record deal?
We believe that having released only one demo-cd several months ago, we would be more than lucky if we already had a Label’s proposal. Nevertheless, the thing that is really difficult to achieve, is to make a deal with a big Label and knows its work very well. We hope to reach that one day, after a lot of work and hard effort.
About your future plans?A new album maybe?
“The Persecution from Heaven” was released on May of 2010. Only 2 months later we had the opportunity to participate in Livadia Extreme Metalfest where we played some new stuff. Now, we’re working on some old ideas, trying to finish some songs. We believe that the full-length album won’t take us long, so please be patient.
A message to all the people tat support the band?
We’d like to thank everyone that support us and give us strength to continue doing what we love. We hope that we’ll be lucky enough, to have them supporting us, on our next steps.
