CygnosiC

CygnosiC

CygnosiC is a quite recently formed one-man project based in Athens, Greece.  Started at late 2006, first from a purely private interest in electro / industrial genre music creation, the CygnosiC project achieved some unexpected success in the process. Among other things, there were numerous positive  references in the form of reviews at the relevant industrial forums and also participation in the program list of various web radios and radios around the world.

CygnosiC was formed at 2006. What were your dreams back then?
My dreams remain the same, I just want to be able to share my music with anybody interested in it. Back then, even though I had the ideas as well as the material, I was not aware of the detailed procedures and specific requirements needed for achieving a really serious acoustical result. However, I am not claiming in any way that I have learned everything there is to it, since I feel I am constantly learning and evolving as a musician.
How do you find the scene in Greece? Are there any bands that you admire?
The scene here seems really nice at the moment. There are quite enough nice and active bands therefore anyone can actually speak of a firmily formulated and solid industrial scene in Greece.  Of course there are bands that I look up to. I will indicatively mention Siva Six, Iambia, Preemptive Strike 0.1 -who btw are releasing right now a wonderful album-, Technolorgy, Virgins O.R Pigeons, the newcomers Hydra Division V to name a few.
You have already 2 releases, "in the Lag of Time" EP and "A Deity in Pain" album. Tell me more about these releases.
The first one is a strictly limited self-produced EP that was used mostly as a promotional demo for labels unlike the second one "a deity in pain" which was a full length album, was produced in a proffesional recording studio, and was released and distributed worldwide. Presently I am recording a new album.
CygnosiC is a one member band. How difficult is that?
This is a coin with two sides. I can definitely have more control on what I do but, on the other hand, maybe more than one people can judge things, act more accurate and even share the time of the process. In the opposite case, bad chemistry or no chemistry at all between members could lead to a disaster.
What are the things that inspire you the most?
Life and values through life. For instance, the contradictory nature of our daily needs and personal problems that perhaps consume as to the point that we fail to grasp, comprehend and even act upon issues that are of a higher and more collective character. In other words, the myopic perspective that prevents us from seeing the entire forest but only the tree strictly in front of us. But all these are filtered by recent personal experiences and thoughts so actually I dont think anyone has necessarily to be touched by all this the way it touches me.
Tell me about your live shows? The feelings on the stage?
I truly appreciate the fact that people come to see CygnosiC, their love and response for the project represents my feelings on stage. I really feel I would like to thank everybody attending, individually for this.
You are recording a new album. Give me some more details.
At the moment I am at the final stage of completing the new album. Everything from instruments to vocals has been recorded and we are mixing the tracks. There will be ten or eleven of them, however I still dont know if I am going to include some remixes.
How difficult is for you to find a new contract now that you don't have a label?
Since while doing this interview I have not reached the end of the recordings and furthermore not knowing the labels' attention to my work, I am not in a position to answer that. However I am an optimist to every matter in life, including this one.
What makes you different from the other bands in the scene?
First of all this question cannot be answered objectively by me. However I would like to believe that CygnosiC as a project has a characteristic and recognizable sound and I would be really happy to achieve this.
A message to all the people that support you all these years?
A really big thankyou to all the people that supported the project so far. Peoples' love is really essential to every band, including CygnosiC. I would like to believe that I will remain worthy of their love and support and the new album will fulfill their expectations.
