Dolls of Pain

 The band has been created in February 2003 by Olivier and Cedric. The singer (Laurent) and the guitarist (Stephane) have reached the band several months after the first title creation.Dolls of Pain proposes an original music, a blend of each member influences. One can say that Dolls of Pain is coumpounded of Dark Electro, of New Wave, of a Indus drop and of an aftertaste of pop.For others, it is rhythm, pure energy shaded by latex and leather. Fetichist words lead to introspection of our own wishes, our hidden desires of domination and.... being dominated.

You were formed back in 2003 and now you are one of the most succesfull and recognizable bands of France.Does this makes you a little stressfull about the future?
We are not more stressed than before, each new stage experience gives us something and we try to improve us gradually and measure, but anyway nobody knows what the future is done ! we have faith in us and our music, we're passionate and we do not do it for the money then we do not see why the future is black.
Which are the members of the band and how each member takes part in the music compotision,lyrics etc.
Oliver, aka "Machine" is the master man of the group from which sprang the ideas of each of the main pieces of DOP During the first 6 years of DOP, Olivier on stage in command of Lead and keyboards for the past one year he puts the guitar part before reprising the role our former guitarist, Stefan, he's the pillar of DOP because he's also the manager and made the mixing for our album, a hard job.Cedric, aka "Digital / S XLII" when it deals with Samples + Effects and brings a musical flavor with his voice as essential 2nd vocal. Cedric is also a founding member of DOP in collaboration with Olivier.Laurent, aka "notreguide" is our lead singer, otherwise we would not have this very specific color of DOP now after 70 concerts under his belt! he write the lyrics too.Nicolas, aka "NicH2o" is our newcomer in the group since a year now and attends to play live keyboards Lead DOP Philip, alias "DarX" is our sound technician and continues to evolve in the live mastering of the compositions.
You have a lot of live experience.How is the feeling on the stage and is there any live show you give and you can forget it?
Our many live experiences are the result of research, work and personal investment of Oliver, we love playing live so everything is going well, it's a pleasure to make music and more bigger when people like it !  playing live is essential because it is the achievement and reward for work done in the studio  the live that we give and we can't forget it's last year at Leipzig in the Agra hall wave gothic treffen, it’s  the mythical place who each group of dark electro dream to playing one day and it was really great to do it .
You change recently a record label why is that?
Our old label Urgence Disk is voluntary, which is fine for starting, we enjoyed working together but we want to try to work differently with other people to continue the experiment Dop, we must see further and evolve! Our old label understands very well and they are happy for us. The choice of Advoxya is especially of our feeling and the fact that we remain free of our choice and artistic image. It is also our view a little label that goes up and which we shall hear more in future years.
You start recording  your new lp. Give us more details?
We do it in our own studio and Olivier did all the mix,, we released an EP in December, the name is «The Bite of your kiss » , it will be specifically for DJs with remixes dancefloor-oriented from a part of our songs from our new LP, who will be released only four months later. This is the first time that we will offering that. The EP and The LP will be released by our new label Advoxya of course. , the design will be done by Solleck, a good graphic designer who has already made the cover of "Slavehunter" and "cybersex" our previous EP, he became a friend to us now.
Can you describe me your music and give me a name?
It's dark electro with guitare, some people describe our music like crossover . We let you choose your own choice ....It is very difficult to find a style name because our music is a mixture of lots of influences from many bands.
Which are the the things that inspires you the most?
 For the lyrics it's all people around me and personnal expérience. The music is write in important moments life. When Olivier is sad, happy or even disappointed. ... music is a reflection of the state of mind and that is why you will find in DOP sad or aggressive songs or melancholy ... a true pannel in the life of Olivier.
What are you trying to experience through your music?
It’s a mixture of all the music that I love and I try to made this music the “DOP music” not like particularly other music that we can hear today.
Are there any new bands that you admire?
It is very hard to answer because I listen everything and I really do not know very well the new scene. So I would like that if it is necessary to quote a: Aestetic perfection. Otherwise I listen Ashbury heights and in strict Confidence at this time.
A message to all the people that support you all these years?
We make a music we like and we're glad that our music pleases to our audience too. We thank our many fans who follow us from the beginning for some, it's always a nice time to meet them at our gigs, it’s just what pushes us to evolve and we believe that the next album will really please to al lof our audience and all the people who like dark electro , thank you.
