Everfailed

Everfailed is a Death Metal band from Crete, Greece. Per (vocals) and Ilias (keyboard) are talking about the creation of the band and their first EP “Biological Order” which was released in 2010.

SubX: Hello guys! Getting started, I would like you to tell me a few words about the creation of  Everfailed.
Per:Well, Everfailed was officially created in 2008 but the idea of forming a band was about one year before.After a few line up changes we finally added up to 5 peope that are the band of Everfailed.

SubX: What are your main influences ? Which are the main themes of your songs?
Per: Our main influneces are generally some melodic and technical death metal bands like Meshuggah, At The Gates and so on. We try to differ as much as possible from those bands so as to create our own music style.For the main themes of the lyrics, I write mostly about personal experiences such as what troubles me in life and some lyrics about a medical situation I had in the past.

SubX: Tell me a few words about your first EP  called “Biological Order” and what's your opinion about the final result?
Ilias:We picked some tracks that we thought would be best to show to the people our work in the best way so that they could get to know us as a band.Well, under the circumstances of the recordings I feel that the E.P is some really good shit. We could have done some better work with the mastering but the lack of money and time did not help us.

SubX: The band was created in 2006 and you released your first EP “Biological Order” in 2010.Why took you so long?
Per: In 2006 we just had the idea of forming a band which did not even have a name and members. After about a year we founded our first line up with a different name. We had our first live show in 2007 but after that we changed our line up and formed a new band Everfailed in 2008.So has actually only been 2 years.
Ilias :In 2008 with the new line up we starded to write our first songs. When we felt confident enough about the results and had a good number of songs to choose from we decided to record. That is why it took some time.

SubX: Have you started working on new material? Are you planning to release a full-length album soon?
Per: For the time being we have already started to compose new stuff and even recording some of the material. If everything goes as planned by summer we will have our second E.P ready, although we still don't want to record a full length. 

SubX: You have performed a lot of lives shows. What is the feeling playing live in front of a crowd?  Which band would you like to support?
Ilias:The feeling of standing on stage for the first time is completely different than the other times. Personally I feel like I'm drunk when performing in front of a crowd. (sometimes I am drunk) .The energy that you get from the crowd makes you feel like you are at the top of the world and that is the best feeling I have ever had. People might say that sometimes I don't have lots of movement on stage but that is because I feel lost and confused by all the beautiful feelings.Each and everyone of us would like to support different bands. Personaly, I would like to play on the same stage as Sybreed and Per is telling me to write In flames.

SubX: Tell me your opinion about the Greek metal scene.
Per: Greece has many fine bands with lots of potential so we really hope that people will stop underastimating greek bands as they tend to do because they really have lots to offer.

SubX: Which are the expectations of Everfailed?
Per: As ambitious people we really hope to start playing some big stages in the future and promote our music as much as possible. 

SubX: What are your plans for the near future?
Ilias: For the time being we are recording some new material that we are hoping to release and also some promo stuff such as t-shirts and so on. We are also planning on a Video in the near future.
