Kaos-Frequenz

 The German one-man project "Kaos-Frequenz" was founded in summer 2007 The music style is a kind of industrial meets hard electro with atmospheric leads and pads.Torsten the man behind the band gives an interview to subexistance.

What was your dream when you form the band back in 2002 ?
Torsten:  Oh, that´s a good question, and that was such a long time ago. You should know, I played for more than eleven years in metal bands. I left my last band in February 2002. In this time I changed my music style and began to work with electronic sounds and music. In this early phase I didn´t have a special intention or a dream, I only wanted to experiment with the new elements and make my own music in the way I like to.
What are you trying to experience through your music?
Torsten: I use many elements from noise to trance, I didn´t know in the beginning, what sound my music or my band will be.  I needed many years (with some breaks) to find my style and to write the songs for the first album.
What was the strongest emotion when you start recording your new ep?
Torsten: The strongest emotion was my proudness of the new songs. They have come to the point where I wanted them to be, without compromise.
How is the industrial scene in Germany? Are there any bands that you admire?
Torsten: We have a big scene here in Germany. But in the moment it is going to have a break. The most older people of the scene don´t go to the clubs anymore and the younger people don´t have a broad music taste. They want to hear only the few of there favorite bands. So the new bands must have the same style like the established ones. Most of our DJ´s can´t (or will not) experiment with real new sounds or bands, to avoid having an empty dancefloor. So the clubs here are focused on the more an more standardized dance-electro grooves.
Tell me about your live performances?The feelings when you play live  in front of a crowd?
Torsten: I love it to play live, that is my reason to make music for more than 20 years now. The live performance by Kaos-Frequenz varied a lot in the last years, friends of mine supported me on the keyboards, but withthe beginning of this year I have a regular keyboard player for my live performances. I myself concentrate on  my vocals on the stage. For the future I will experiment with a video show and use more live played musical elements, maybe I will try a live drumset.I am very glad to see people like my music and dance to it. Whenever this happens, I want to go among the crowd and sing between them. On the concert I am another human, it´s like a button to start the machine. 
What makes Kaos-Frequenz different than the other bands?
Torsten: I don´t know, but I think this question should be answered by the people who like Kaos-Frequenz.
Are there any people that really support Kaos-Frequenz? I don´t mean the fans but people from music industry.
Torsten: Yes, of course, some people help and support K-F, in the first line there is a number of DJ´s and my Label. And all the concert bookers and event organizers who want to book a Kaos-Frequenz show.
About your future plans?
Torsten: I write new songs for the next full length album, and I will play more concerts in Europe.
