BLOODCULT FESTIVAL #3
BLOODCULT FESTIVAL #3
CROSSOVER,
W.E.B,
GOSPEL OF GRIEF,
IMPERIUM INFERNALIS,
TOXIC TERROR
Saturday, 23/10/10
@Rethimno’s Tourist Club Hall
The doors were opened at 20.00 and Toxic Terror from Heraklion was the first band to enter the stage, a thrash band –it had not been more than two months since their birth-, playing their own “Acts Of Terror” and covers from Slayer, Sepultura, Pantera, Kreator, Coroner…Until one moment, when they brought to the stage an inflatable doll, wearing a Sodom t-shirt for stage diving purposes! Considering this was their very first live, Toxic Terror was pretty good.
On with the live, and black metallers Imperium Infernalis (also from the city of Heraklion), starting off with an Immortal cover and maintaining this pace/ style for the rest of their show, they definitely warmed up the crowd for the act to come, Gospel Of Grief, a great Athenian band, reminiscent of Rotting Christ at spots -without this being necessarily a negative characteristic- which offered to each and every one of us unceasing headbanging.
W.E.B was the band to follow, performing mostly material drawn from their last release “Jesus Heist”, and although at the beginning the audience was somewhat distant/ hesitant, by the time tunes such as “Enthroned” and “Cockroach” were heard…they started regaining their confidence..!
Lastly, the band to close this obscure musical feast was Crossover, and however good their start was with Iphigenia attracting all stares with her impressive brutal singing, Zion was drunk enough, with this resulting in his blabbering as soon as a song was completed, but also to his feeling dizzy, being rendered unable to stand and fall.. Naturally, they were unable to complete their set. They also covered a bassless “The Sign Of Evil Existence”, as Zion’s cable was off, and some time was needed before he had realized it.
And so the third Bloodcult Festival ended; in wait for the next!
