Double Elvis - Vampyre Songs

Double Elvis - Vampyre Songs
Artist:
Double Elvis
Release:
Vampyre Songs
Label:
Echozone

"Vampyre Songs" seems to be a teaser for the upcoming Double Elvis album. This French duo though give us more than an ep here,as this release contains some videos as well.A quite interesting and obvious remark would be that they have borrowed their name from Andy Warhol's painting of the same theme.
This reference alone creates a somewhat  peculiar sense regarding the sounds contained within. The formula mostly used here,is a mix of indie rock along with some punk and goth parts.Something that works quite well for them,I think.

This disc opens with two unreleased tracks:both of them will be featured in "Twins On Canvas"the band's forthcoming album. The sound is almost flawless, while the most impressive feauture are definitely the vocals:sober and clear, they add a distinctive touch to Double Elvis' arsenal.

There are also two live tracks, showcasing a somehow harder face, yet again the recording quality is very good. What separates this ep from being a single appetizer, are the videos:very nice work and certainly,a bonus in favour of buying this mini-cd.What we have here,as a whole,is a very good release. After listening to "Vampyre Songs"I am certainly curious to hear what Double Elvis has to offer with their full-length release,"Twin On Canvas".The material gathered here is convincing enough.

Tracklist:
1)Vampyre Songs
2)A Sea Of Ashes
3)Virginia Tech
4)The Art of War
5)Vampyre Song(part II)
