Gothic Visions II Cd/Dvd
Gothic Visions II. Well now, what can one say for this spectacular musical/ acoustical/ optical breed? I’m not quite sure how many people worked for this cd/ dvd to be given flesh to; they were rather not few.
As for the content: there is a cd featuring 80 minutes of music and a dvd offering 330 of audio and 300’ of video!!! The actual point though is as follows: through this musical goth craziness, an opportunity is given not only to the already established artists, but to the new ones that have barely had an access to a wider audience, to the ones walking their first musical steps, to be part of Gothic Visions II.
Anyway, let’s just speak of the basic ones, for if I was to analyze the release, it would take a day or two. Music is drawn from the all corners of the dark scene: Gothic, Darkwave, Deathrock/ Batcave, synthpop/ electro-pop, New Wave, Neoclassical and more. Bands as Merciful Nuns, Andreas Gross, The Wolf Gang, Saints of Ruin, Eisblume, Kalt, Factory of Dreams, Vlad In Tears, Denight, Whispers In The Shadow, DIE!, Virith, Lilith, Mortal Clay, my friends Fundetta and Shirayas Dream, Rhombus, In Viro, Blood take part in the cd. As for the dvd, some of the bands presenting a clip are Umbra At Imago, Whispers In The Shadow, Shock Therapy, Merciful Nuns, New Risen, Fundetta, Mortal Clay, Second Skin, House Of Usher, Dead Guitars, XMH, Born For Bliss, Eisblume, PSYCHEROTIQUE, Sixth June, Vic Anselmo. Additionally, the dvd features a fashion show from Black Jewels Clothing (in slideshow form) AND a short movie called Destin by iNsCiSSors.
Conclusively: coming from the very center of the German gothic industry, an epic for each and every fan of the Dark Music. Congratulations to Echozone and anyone who helped, in one way or another, for this collection to be released. It’s a 10 for the effort, a 10 for the result too, 10 for the quality, and a 10 for the exhaustion these guys have been through. Almost 12 hours of audio and video. Plainly, the greatest (collective) piece ever crossed my eyes/ ears, as far as regarding this scene.
10/10 Kostas Sotiriou
