Gothic Visions III - Echozone

Gothic Visions 3 is the third part of this excellent effort put into work by Jork and Echozone’s team. Let us be honest: these days’ musical industry’s heart undoubtedly resides in Germany-there is not one other country (not even England) that actually tries that much to release albums of that fine standards, sparing time, money and graft for the dark scene (naturally, I am not speaking about bands and musicians – talent can be found anywhere world over).

However, let’s have a bite from the main dish: the artwork cover has been done by Tim Abmann, with the model Opheliac carrying out the legacy that’s been created with the Gothic Visions predecessors (the characteristic female gothic figure).  On with 58 (!) video clips and live performances from Echozone’s acts and more. Some of them are: Lacrimosa, Saints of Ruin, Minus Heart, Mundtot, Eisbrecher, Vendemmian, In Strict Confidence, Whispers in the Shadow, Fundetta and more. Additionally, the collection contains 19 audio tracks, featuring bands such as the fantastic The Daughters of Bristol, Greeks New Zero God with Lap of the Universe, and 17 bands plus in the 80’ long audio cd. Also, in the dvd 32 more audio tracks can be listened to, with a total duration of 130 minutes (some of the bands are Gates of DAWN, Incissors, Denight, Tunes of DAWN, Ikon and more. In the dvd there’s also Second Skin’s 3D video clip and Sassy Skeleton’s amazing slideshow artwork going by the title of ‘Death, Decay and Sweet Demise’.

To sum it up, Gothic Visions 3 is an astonishing work and a musical point of reference concerning the Dark scene; this scene is a tightly fitting soundtrack to these dark ages we are all experiencing. This collection is truly, truly worth one’s money/ attention!
