Lydia's Gemstone - The New Melancholy

“The New Melancholy” is the Austrian based brothers’, Marcus and Christian  Keimel, first discographic attempt. A musical alloy based on many and different from one another musical genres of the goth and metal scene.

A solid, thorough piece of work, a neat production and a voice with a characteristic, “different”  tinge. A deeply melancholic atmosphere occurs, with direct references to the Finnish music scene, but influences have yet to extinct: they are varied from Anathema to Cult – in no case however, do they copy one. On the contrary, their music sounds fresh and aesthetically “open” to a wider audience. This aptly turns comprehensive with “karmageddon”, an astonishing composition on all levels. The song is also illustrative of the musical route the band tends to trace. This is an album that never tires the listener, devoid of signs of euphoria; the opposite is the key: melancholy, beauty, lyricism and harmony.

Lydia’s Gemstone amazing debut is worth paying some musical attention to. It is unconditionally recommended to each and every one of you!
