Prejudice Reborn - Rain Must Fall
What we have here is the first EP ‘’Rain Must Fall’’ by Prejudice Reborn who are on the up and up lately playing one gig after the other and bombarding the media with their music keeping a buzz around their name and creating a fanbase of their own. Let’s take a deep look inside the album now.
The EP starts off with ‘’OCD’’ (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder ) a heavy track that crosses the borders between many metal genres and takes you really into what Prejudice Reborn are all about as it includes all the elements the band is know for. ‘’Rain Must Fall’’ is up next and as soon as the song begins the opening riff from ‘’Now I Lay Thee Down’’ by Machine Head comes to my mind unconsciously but not for long as Prejudice Reborn makes sure the song stands out dazzlingly. ‘’Faithless Trust’’ continues in the same mid-tempo pace as the previous track yet the orchestration is more well structured followed by a modest solo that compliments the song nonetheless, wearing the Metallica influence on its sleeve which is actually very cleverly done in this case, leaving ‘’Tantalize’’ the task of ending the album, a wise choice indeed. The song kicks in ferociously yet quite groovy in parts without missing the thrash riffing that is present throughout the album.
‘’Rain Must Fall’’ is a rather simple release, studio gimmicks and polished sounds are not what Prejudice Reborn are going for. It is very clear the the Metallica influence coats this EP in many ways, especially vocal and drum wise. The production by Fragile Studios is raw and dry, a knowledgeable choice which is reminiscent of 80’s heavy metal records, the guitars and bass are rolling and the percussion is considerable and full of groove. Fasten your seatbelts guys, Prejudice Reborn are coming for you!
