In Viro - Gehοrche!Fuhle!Glaube!

In Viro are a band coming from Germany,whose name,I have to admit,was not familiar to me,before writing this review. Something not that strange perhaps, since this is their debut release!
The title,which could be translated as Obey!Feel!Believe! is very clever,giving us an insight of what is to be found within this cd:the dominant style here is a crossover between electro and metal,not so far away from the Neue Deutsche Harte movement.As one can easily understand,In Viro bear a strong resemblance to the leading figures of this movement,who are no others than Rammstein.

That said,what we have here is certainly not a Rammstein copycat,though it is difficult not to pay attention to how similar these acts sound.In Viro of course are trying to seduce us by using a more metal approach,compared to the one of their fellow countrymen:indeed,distorted guitars play a leading role here.This resemblance though is easy to trace,even in song titles:"Ich Bin..."for instance,undoubtedly reminds me of Rammstein's "Ich Will".You can find some strong moments here and there:the controversial"Vaterland,Oh Vaterland" is a very good example of how strong this band can be.The title track stands out as well,striding on this combination of strong beats and dazzling guitars.As for the vocal performance it really is good,though at times it could be more varied.

All in all,this is a good debut.As the band is in the process of recording their sophomore effort,I should say that they are capable of producing an even better album next time,especially if they add some more personal touches to their sound palette.Rammstein accolytes should give this a try,they'll certainly find things of interest,herein.
